Basketball hoop

I’ve been on the lookout for a gently-used basketball hoop for the kids. After months of scouring craigslist, I was beginning to think I’d never find one. Which led to this exchange…

Me: “You know what, maybe I’ll just break down and buy a new one.”

Anna: “Why don’t you?”

Me: “Well, because it’s kind of a big purchase. I should probably talk it over with Mommy first.”

Without skipping a beat, Anna stepped in with some solid advice.

Anna: “Well, you could always just buy it and tell Mommy to look on the bright side.”

Me: “And what exactly is the bright side?”

Anna: “Now we have a new basketball hoop.”
